What are security challenge coins?
Private security companies and corporate security departments order a coin for the people who protect buildings and the people inside them. Campus and hospital units order them too, along with airport details, event crews, loss prevention teams, and government or military security units. The officer who earned one keeps it off duty, and a client or a partner agency may receive one as thanks.
A shield or badge outline usually sits beside the unit name, with room for a compass rose, a site map, a service motto, and the flag. Companies use the coin to honor an officer, and crews at separate sites share one identity through it. They also hand the coin to a client when a contract or a joint mission wraps up.

Officer
recognition
Campus and hospital units present a coin when an officer handles a hard call or a long assignment well. Airport teams hand out coins at roll call too.
Sites and
clients
The company name and a motto can fill the coin, and each crew’s site can be added for that posting. When a contract wraps up, clients get the coin as a physical record of the work for both sides.
Shared
identity
Crews at separate sites share one identity through a single coin design. A team at a new post carries the same mark the other sites already use. The coin lets those crews recognize each other.

Everything you need to know about designing, ordering, and creating your custom security challenge coins.
Yes, we can put your security badge or company logo on a coin. Custom coins are made to show the mark your team already uses, whether that is a badge or a logo. A print-ready coin file is not required up front, since the drawing can begin from the mark itself.
Each officer’s name or a number can be engraved on the coin. Engraving is how names and titles are added, most often on the reverse side. Coins can also be numbered one after another so every officer has a distinct piece.
Security challenge coins require a minimum of 50. One order can cover a whole shift or a full unit, as long as it reaches that count. A bigger team can order past 50 without switching the artwork.
Plan on 3-4 weeks of production once the proof is approved, plus a few days in transit to a US address. Design time before you approve the proof is separate from that production window.
