What are nonprofit challenge coins?
Foundations, charities, veterans’ groups, and first responder support groups put their name and mission on a coin that supporters keep. Children’s advocacy centers order them too, along with food programs, memorial committees, run organizers, and stair-climb committees. Donors, volunteers, board members, and event participants take one home.
The logo and a short line from the mission usually fill one side, and the other can mark an anniversary or a milestone the group wants remembered. Groups can also let supporters buy a coin when they want to make a contribution. What they pay goes back to the cause. Years down the road, the coin sits on a desk with the mission line facing its keeper.

Charity
events
A memorial stair climb or a charity tournament hands each participant a coin naming the event and the cause. Organizers can set extras at the registration table and sell them for the mission that same day.
Foundation
supporters
Donors and volunteers receive the foundation’s coin with the name and mission on it. Board members often get the same design when they join, and one artwork covers the group that keeps the work going.
Marking a
milestone
The year and the milestone, a 25th anniversary or a million meals delivered, sit on the back of the coin. That number remains readable well past the day of the announcement.

We've got answers
Everything you need to know about designing, ordering, and creating your custom nonprofit challenge coins.
Yes, a nonprofit can sell challenge coins to raise money at a fundraiser or for an ongoing appeal. You set the price supporters pay, and we handle the making of the coins. A custom design can carry the event name or the cause.
You can start a design without sending finished art. Share the idea and any notes you already have, and a US-based design team will draw the coin for free. Ask for as many revisions as you want at no art charge, and we send a free full-color proof before anything is made.
Nonprofit challenge coins start at 50 pieces per order. Most groups order 100, because the price of each coin drops sharply between 50 and 100.
You can reorder this coin for next year’s event. We retain the mold for three years from the order, and a matching reorder in that period has no mold fee attached. The three-year period restarts with every reorder, so an annual event can stay with the saved mold.
