Ready to place an order? Start with the practical steps. This section explains how ordering works, what sets the price, the minimum run, how you can pay, how shipping works, and how reorders are handled. Use the index below to jump straight to a topic, or simply continue through the guide from the beginning.
01 . How Do I Order Custom Challenge Coins?
The order starts with an idea you send along with any logo or reference images, the quantity, and the date the coins are needed. Email, text, chat, and phone all work for that packet, and so does the quote form. A designer makes a full-color digital proof at no charge, and it arrives with an itemized quote.
Revisions are unlimited and free, with no obligation to order. When the design and the price are both approved, the order is placed and paid, production starts, and the coins ship. After ordering, you can create an account and use the dashboard to see the order, its shipping information, and past quotes, and to reorder.
02 . How Much Do Custom Challenge Coins Cost?
Price depends on diameter, quantity, color setup, and upgrades. The three options are die struck with no color, color on one side, or color on both sides, each with its own price table.
The quote lists the per-coin price at that size and quantity plus the one-time mold fee and any upgrades, with no design or proof charge and with the mold fee as the only setup line. Enamel is priced by the side, so the number of colors does not change the price. Gold, silver, and copper plating are standard at no charge, and antique finishes and black nickel are upgrades. A custom shape costs the same as a round coin of the same diameter unless it has a fully enclosed interior cut-out. The die and mold are made once, and so is the color setup, so each step up in quantity lowers the price of every coin. Per-coin prices at every size and quantity are on the pricing page.
03 . What Is the Minimum Order for Challenge Coins?
The minimum is 50 coins. Most customers order 100 because the setup cost is spread over twice as many coins and the price of each coin drops sharply between 50 and 100. At 50 pieces, each coin still carries a larger share of the mold and the color setup, though you can order 50 if that is all you need.
The mold fee is waived on larger runs at most sizes, and the size of the coin decides whether a given run reaches that waiver. Spares ordered now, for latecomers, retirements, replacements, or next year's class, cost far less than a second small batch later because that later batch pays the setup again. The pricing page shows the exact quantity tiers.
04 . What Payment Methods Do You Accept?
All major credit cards, including government purchasing cards, checks, and wire transfers are accepted. Purchase orders are accepted from a government entity, a public school, or a hospital only when the PO is on the organization's letterhead, signed and dated, states NET30 terms, and matches the full order total.
Nothing is charged until you have signed off on the art and the quote. The quote is written in the format purchasing offices and budget holders need. Production waits for full payment unless the order is on an accepted purchase order, and in that case production starts at once and the balance can be paid from the dashboard later.
05 . How Does Shipping Work?
Shipping is free to any physical address in the 48 contiguous states. Alaska, Hawaii, and international addresses are quoted by the rep. Include the delivery address in your first message so we can attach the right quote.
APO, FPO, and DPO addresses all cost extra because parcel carriers do not deliver to them, and those orders ship from the factory to the company's headquarters in Winter Park, Florida, where they are repackaged and go out by USPS. Transit to a United States address takes about 2 business days. If the coins are for a ceremony, graduation, or deployment date, mention it at the start so the rep can confirm the timeline before the proof is approved.
06 . How Do Reorders Work?
We keep the mold on file for 3 years from the most recent order, so a reorder of the same design in that window pays no new mold fee, and each reorder restarts the 3 years. You can reuse one side of your own mold for a new coin if the new coin is the same size and shape, and a new back behind an existing front is the usual case.
The changed side needs a new mold, and the unchanged side keeps the old one. Changing the size, shape, or texture in the recessed metal requires a new mold. Reorders can be started from the dashboard or by contacting the rep, and the approved proof is on file. Nobody can order from another customer's mold.
