Challenge Coins

Start Your Free Coin Design
The medics who ran the call still carry it with them. A custom EMS challenge coin is how you show them you noticed. Order a set for your station and give one to a medic who earned it.

Recognize Emergency Medical Responders

Your crew’s coin can carry the star of life and the rod of Asclepius at the center, with a unit number beside an ambulance or a helicopter. The year the service was founded fits on the rim. Hand them out during EMS Week and at paramedic and EMT graduations. State EMS associations hand theirs out at conferences. After a hard call where a crew made a save, pull one from a desk drawer and put it in someone’s hand while the story is still fresh. A commendation ceremony gives you a fixed day, so see when the artwork has to be approved.

Honor the
call that
counted

That one call stays with your medics. A custom coin lets you recognize the people who made the save, or who kept their cool when everything on scene went sideways. The coin tells them you saw the work.

Thank the
crew that
showed up

Nobody thanks the crew that ran your overnight transfer. Say it in metal during EMS Week! When your anniversary arrives, set the founding year inside a laurel and hand that coin out too.

Welcome
the new
medics

The class just earned something they can hold onto. Pass it over at the pinning with the Star of Life up front and their year underneath so the whole group matches. They can take that coin into the first shift and the ones after it. If you present association awards from a podium, order a coin the winners will keep.

We've got answers

Everything you need to know about designing, ordering, and creating your custom EMS challenge coins.

An ambulance service, a fire-based EMS division, a hospital transport team, or a flight crew orders one of these for its own people. Directors set one aside after a call the crew wants remembered, and training coordinators keep a stack ready for the day a class finishes. A retirement or a long career gets a coin too, and a state association can bring a batch for partners at its own conference.

The Star of Life can fill one side while the rod of Asclepius sits on the reverse, and a station number goes with the year you opened. Ground services place the ambulance beside the number, and crews that fly use the helicopter instead. The service patch can join either arrangement, and our US-based design team draws it for free.

Yes. The coins go to the staff who stay in the operations center through a flood or a wildfire season, with the agency seal on the front and a custom shape matching your county or state outline.

The minimum is 50 coins, and we usually recommend 100 because the quantity discount at that tier makes 100 cost only a little more in total than 50.

If EMS Week is your deadline, production usually takes 3-4 weeks after proof approval plus a few days in transit, and telling the rep the date up front lets them confirm the timing before the design is approved. We cover delivery to all 50 states.

Government services and hospital-based services can pay by purchase order on NET30 terms. Have the PO on official letterhead with a signature and a date, and make sure the total matches the order.
