Custom Dog Tags
Start Your Free Coin DesignDog tag coins are popular because they look like real military dog tags, the ones service members wear. The rounded rectangle reads as a tag as soon as you see it.
Each coin comes with a hole for a ball chain or a key ring. You can hang it with your keys or wear it on a chain when you are off duty.

Dog Tags Cut to Carry
Dog tag challenge coins are custom coins cut like a military identification tag, with a hole for a ball chain or a key ring. The coin goes everywhere its owner does. Some are cut with a bottle opener along the bottom.
Military units, police departments, companies, and schools order this shape when they want a coin people will keep on them every day. It is made to come along every day, on a chain at work or on a key ring between stops. Carrying it every day is why you pick this shape.

Give every
member one
A unit or a department can give every member a dog tag coin with the badge or crest on it. A company does the same with its logo. Each person keeps theirs on a key ring or a chain.
Honor a
fallen member
Someone your team lost should be remembered in a way people can hold. A dog tag coin gives the squad a tribute they can wear, with rank and unit on the back. Pass them at the memorial, and it stays close after everyone goes home.
Open bottles
at reunions
After the speeches, this coin still has a job. A dog tag with a cutout opener at the bottom gets used, then clipped back on a key ring. Core values on the face keep it personal to your company.

We've got answers
Everything you need to know about designing, ordering, and creating your custom dog tag challenge coins.
We offer gold, silver and copper platings standard with our orders. We also offer upgraded antique finishes that give an aged look to your coins. Antique finishes help greatly when your design is mostly metal (die struck) as the darker recessed areas provide a greater contrast for text and fine lines. We also offer some specialty colored metals that have a similar appearance to powder-coating (no charge), black nickel (a shiny gunmetal appearance), and now an iridescent rainbow plating (price on request).
The minimum order is 50 coins, but we always recommend ordering 100 due to the quantity discount at this quantity. Typically ordering 100 coins is only ~20% more expensive than ordering 50.
Our coins are made from brass metal if they are round. If the coins are a special shape or feature a high-relief 3D design, the material is a zinc alloy. We can also make coins out of copper, iron, and aluminum depending on your needs.
We keep your coin’s mold for a period of 3 years. If you reorder in that 3 year period, the 3 year storage period starts over!
We have multiple options for production location depending on your design choice and budget. We have manufacturing here in Florida and also overseas. Please consult with one of our sale professionals about what will work best for your challenge coin order.
You do not pay for a mold fee again on a reorder as long as the previous mold is still on file (kept for 3 years from the latest order date).
