A department orders this coin for the firefighters who work there. The coin marks a probie making it through the first year, a promotion to lieutenant or captain, a retirement after decades on the job, an anniversary year, or a line-of-duty memorial. The department trades them with a visiting company, and someone in the community who helped receives one too. Firefighters keep the coin on the dash, or on the shelf at the station.
Departments start with the Maltese cross, which is the fire service’s own badge, and they add the station or engine number. Ladder trucks and engines, the helmet and the axe, the department patch, Saint Florian, the founding year, and the motto belong on the coin too.
We cut both of those outlines, along with a shield or a truck, usually at the same price as a round coin when the shape has no enclosed interior cut-out. We can cut a pattern into the edge and sculpt the design in 3D.
The minimum order is 50 coins. We usually recommend 100, because the quantity discount at that tier makes 100 cost only a little more in total than 50.
Production usually takes 3-4 weeks after approval, plus a few days in transit to a US address. We cover shipping to all 50 states. If a ceremony date is driving the order, tell your rep the deadline up front so they can confirm the turnaround before you approve the design.
You can pay by purchase order on NET30 terms when a city or county runs yours. A district fire department can too, since both are government entities. We need the PO on official letterhead, signed and dated, with the amount matching the order total.
