Working closely with the All About Challenge Coins design team, the customer set out to create more than just a coin. They wanted a piece that would reflect their connection to the island, their mission, and the legacy they represent.
From the start, this custom challenge coin was designed to tell a complete story. Rather than treating each side as separate, both sides were crafted to work together, creating a unified design that reflects Station Maui from every angle.
The artwork features detailed island landscapes, ocean elements, and maritime imagery that highlight the station’s environment and daily operations. Paired with symbolic elements like the Hawaiian flag, the coin becomes a visual representation of place, culture, and service.

To bring the design to life, the coin was produced using advanced 3D sculpting on both sides. This technique adds depth, texture, and contrast, giving the coin a bold and dynamic appearance.
An antique gold finish was selected to enhance these details. The finish allows light and shadow to naturally define the artwork, creating a coin that feels both premium and timeless.
